RDA Participant of the Year 2021 - Millie Boo Smith 

November 2021

Huge congratulations to Millie Boo Smith who was awarded RDA Participant of the Year 2021. On November 5th, Millie and her parents travelled to RDA National Training Centre in Warwickshire to receive the award from Princess Anne, who has been the Patron of RDA for 50 years. Millie's talents are not limited to horse riding, she also recently won prizes for Photography and Collage in the RDA National Championships, as well as a first place at a Para Dressage competition. As a group we have been so impressed by Millie’s achievements, courage, resilience, team spirit, adaptability during lockdowns, commitment to learning, commitment to volunteering and commitment to riding and vaulting. She is a shining example to other participants and we feel she thoroughly deserves this recognition.

Many congratulations to Lyn D, our committed assistant vaulting coach, who won Forth Valley Disability Sport's Volunteer of the Year award in a hugely competitive awards category this spring. Lyn has been volunteering with Equi-Power since 2015, both as a coach and fundraiser, and we are delighted that she has been recognised for her outstanding services to our club. 

RDA UK Brilliant Group of the Year Award!

November 2020

Awarded to Equi-Power by RDA UK for our adaptive services during lockdown! Our members took part in online learning, online family fun and fitness sessions and accessed mind coaching and mental health support.

Huge thanks to the Kiltwalk for match funding and to everyone who took part in and sponsored our 21 strong team. Our Kilt walkers walked and cycled a socially distanced Kilt walk around Scotland on the weekend of 11th -13th September, raising over £20,000!

Persimmon Building Futures Award October 2019

Team Equi-Power was delighted to be one of the finalists in the Persimmon Building Futures Awards.  Massive thanks to everyone that voted for Equi-Power.  A very welcome donation of £5000 was received from Persimmon Homes.

Horsescotland Awards March 2019

Equi-Power Trustee, Susie Elliot, was presented with an award for her outstanding contribution to Riding for the Disabled (RDA) in the past 50 years.

Equi-Power was awarded best Equestrian Club and Best Equestrian Photo (credit to Katielee Arrowsmith from SNWS) at The Horsescotland Awards at Doubletree Dunblane Hydro on 30th March 2019.  

Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2018

Seven Equi-Power volunteers walked the 2018 Edinburgh Kiltwalk on Sunday, September 16th. Through sponsorship and generous contributions from The Hunter Foundation the charity raised almost £5000 which has helped support our life-changing services.

Stirling Agricultural Show

On Saturday 9th June 2018 Equi-Power had a stand at the Annual Stirling Agricultural Show, which takes place at Blackgrange Field in Blairlogie, Stirling. The field is located on the A907 and a map of the location is available here: www.equoevents.co.uk/Venues/View/308
