“Absolutely amazing day”! Feedback from our first family sessions, designed for whole families to attend together and enjoy. The brainchild of coach Kat, whose day job is working with young people with profound, complex and life limiting disabilities, Kat knew that there were very few activities that whole families can enjoy together. 

Families told Kat that they often have to split in two to go out, with one parent taking care of a child with complex disabilities and the other taking siblings out to enjoy their own experiences. We wanted to run a day with something for all the family, and offered a meet and greet of our horses, photo opportunities, a sensory stable, arts and crafts suitable for all ages, refreshments and facepainting. 

The day was enjoyed by families and volunteers alike, and it was wonderful to be able to ensure that siblings (young carers) were part of that enjoyment and that parents, grandparents and carers could come together and have a wonderful day out too. We will definitely be running more family sessions this year!
